Reminder: Retain Your VA Personnel Records

In light of recent events at VA and the federal government as a whole, the AFGE National VA Council strongly recommends that bargaining unit employees retain copies of their personnel actions, performance appraisals, and other documentation from their personnel records. While retaining these documents has always been a best practice, it is more important than ever before to do so. These documents may be necessary to prove that an employee completed their probationary period or to challenge future personnel actions, for example.
